Put Medicaid Dollars Into Care —
Not Insurance Profits
Right now, billions of New York’s Medicaid dollars are going to for-profit insurance company middlemen instead of being invested in the home care services New Yorkers depend on. That means less funding for the care seniors and people with disabilities need — and lower wages for the workers who provide it.
The Home Care Savings & Reinvestment Act (A2018A/S2332A) would cut out these insurance middlemen and reinvest an estimated $3.5 billion every year directly into home care — supporting fair wages, bettering worker recruitment, and higher quality care for New Yorkers.
